Director of Operations
With 25 years of education experience split evenly between teaching and school administration, Dirk Angevine brings a unique and dynamic capability to school management and guidance. Dirk graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor’s in Public Policy; his Master’s in Education was earned at George Mason University and he received his Principal’s licensure from the University of Denver. He has worked with a wide diversity of students, at all age levels and with a range of learning styles including experiential, alternative and traditional. Dirk moved to Evergreen from the Washington D.C. area in 1992 and worked as a Project Manager with his grandfather’s real estate development business.
Dirk has served as an administrator at metro area charter schools since 2000; his most recent position in Jefferson County was with Compass Montessori School, just down the street, where he was the Head of School. His wife was also a school social worker at the Golden campus and is currently working at Colorado Academy. They have two middle school age daughters. While growing up Dirk lived in Pakistan, the Philippines and Japan; he is also an avid tennis player.

Kelly has enjoyed working in education for 24 years, as a teacher and more recently as the Pedagogical Chair at the Davis Waldorf School in Davis, CA. She completed her undergraduate work in Elementary and Special Education at SUNY Geneseo, followed by a Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist at Nazareth College. Soon after her daughter was born, she discovered Waldorf Education, and based on her strong interest in honoring the individual and educating the whole child, pursued the Waldorf Grades Teacher Training Program along with the Waldorf Transdisciplinary Therapeutic Education Program in California. She completed two cycles of teaching Grades 1-5 at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder, CO, as well as teaching at other Waldorf schools. Additionally, Kelly has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, CA for 9 years where she trains teachers in the summers. She also has a daughter who received the gift of a Waldorf Education in grades K-12 and will be a junior in college in the fall. When not teaching, Kelly enjoys hiking, international travel, cooking, and writing (see her second set of readers for children recently published!). Kelly is happy to be returning to Colorado and joining the faculty at Mountain Phoenix.

ECE Program Director
Heidi brings years of teaching experience in mixed-ability classrooms and completed her Master’s in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver in 2011. She believes in nurturing the whole child through their imaginations while developing compassionate, self-confident lifelong learners rich in appreciation of diversity, creativity, and respect. Heidi is a mother of a son and daughter, and enjoys reading, gardening, sketching, ice skating, and bicycling.
